Hi Friends!

We hope you're enjoying this last bit of summer! One of our team members is gearing up to go hike the Long Trail in Vermont starting tomorrow, so wish her luck and stay tuned for a brand new LT trip guide later this year.

We’ve released a ton of new content recently including our revamped Best Energy Bars guide, 10 Tips for Capturing Great Adventure Photos, and Best Dog Boots guide. Be sure to give those a read and let us know what you think on social media.

And lastly but certainly not least, our hearts go out to all of our friends in California affected by the fires and smoke. We also feel for all the PCT and JMT thru-hike hopefuls who are having to make big changes to their plans due to re-routes and forest closures. If your trip got cut short, we encourage you to pivot to a new adventure. Check out our Trip Guides for inspiration.

10 Tips for Capturing Great Adventure Photos
A photo speaks a thousand words, especially when it comes to recalling the details of your adventures. A trip may only last for a few days, but great photos will bring back the feels for a lifetime. Learning to capture professional looking photos takes time, but it’s a skill worth growing.
Best Dog Boots
You probably wouldn’t go barefoot on rough terrain, and your dog shouldn’t either. Dog boots protect your pup’s paws from hot surfaces, abrasive terrain, and the uncomfortable buildup of ice and sand. Boots will help your dog tackle the trail in comfort and with confidence.
Best Energy Bars
The humble snack. Always there when you need it most - right before a big run, just before the final push to a summit, or found in the bottom of your bag when you realize you left your lunch sitting on the kitchen counter. Yes, the snack. Make sure the fuel you put in your body is high quality and tasty.
10 Tips for Hiking & Backpacking in the Rain
There’s no doubt that rainy and cold conditions add an element of challenge to getting outside. But, don’t let a drizzly forecast stop you from being active and immersing yourself in nature. The right mindset and quality rain gear make all the difference.

GEAR PICK OF THE WEEK
We haven’t tried a bar from Kate’s Real Food that we didn’t like. These high-quality snacks are made with ingredients you can pronounce, are all organic, all gluten-free, and all non-GMO certified, so you can be sure you’re treating your body and your taste buds well. Kate’s Bars also had the most pleasant texture out of any bar on our list - it’s a good mix of moist and crunchy, and it doesn’t feel gritty or get stuck in your teeth. When you need a quick energy boost on the trail, you will not be disappointed by a Kate’s Real Food Bar.

OUR FAVORITE FLAVORS: Dark Chocolate Cherry & Almond (GF), Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate (GF), Lemon Coconut & Ginger (GF), Mango Coconut (GF)
