After moving to Wisconsin from Holland, cheesemaker Marieke Penterman craved the authentic gouda she grew up with. “Wisconsin has a world of cheeses, but I couldn’t find my gouda at the supermarket,” she shares. She made her first batch in 2006 and, soon after, won Best of Class at the 2007 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest for Marieke® Gouda Foenegreek. A buttery gouda flecked with fenugreek seeds that boast maple syrup and burnt sugar notes. “It’s fun to hear a Dutch person say, ‘If it’s not Marieke® Gouda, it isn’t gouda.’ That’s a big compliment.”

Taste: Wood River Creamery® Cheddar Gruyere

This delicious beauty was no accident for Master Cheesemaker Bruce Willis from Burnett Dairy® Cooperative. He’s the creator of this one-of-a-kind artisan masterpiece. “I wanted to make something unique,” says Bruce. “It took about three years to get everything blended just right. I would consider it a cheddar that's been 'gruyered'.” Savor the sweet and nutty original or tasty flavors like Triple Pepper, Applewood Smoked Sea Salt and Herbes de Provence.
