Betsy DeVos' Title IX rules leading to 'insane' results, attorneys and advocates say

Activists are highlighting hardships students say they've experienced after filing Title IX complaints, as a way of ramping up pressure on the Biden administration to overhaul how schools deal with sexual misconduct.

In particular, victims' advocates are calling on the Department of Education to reverse changes spearheaded by former Secretary Betsy DeVos, which limited how schools can respond to complaints. The changes have led to "insane" results, an attorney who works with universities said.
