Dear ,

Since 1930, Canadian Geographic has been dedicated to uncovering stories about Canada — its people, landscapes and wildlife, and the ideas, challenges and trends that shape our experience of place. In recent issues, we’ve trekked to the top of Canada’s tallest mountain to examine the impacts of climate change on alpine environments, traced the hoofprints of the remarkably resilient muskox across the Arctic, and profiled the East Coast entrepreneurs farming the sea while chasing a lower carbon footprint. We are proud to work with Canada’s best writers and photographers and our cartographer, Chris Brackley, to tell these and other stories in a dynamic, balanced, factual way.

But we can’t do it without you, our readers. The Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s annual silent auction is one of our most important fundraising events of the year. Funds raised through the auction will allow us to continue to send contributors into the field, bringing back stories and images that inform and inspire.

"While photographing a fox den near Ottawa, I was mesmerized by these young foxes (seven in total), full of exuberance, displaying their playful nature as they eagerly awaited the return of a meal to their den. The fox kits' antics and interactions with each other were a joy to watch and photograph, making it impossible to resist their charm." — Michelle Valberg
