Good morning,

Biden, Trump to hold dueling rallies in Minnesota Former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump are headed back to Minnesota Friday, underscoring the importance of the state’s 10 Electoral College votes as they chase the required 270 to win the presidency. The former vice president announced a drive-in rally in St. Paul Friday afternoon, which would be his second visit to the battleground state this election season.

The campaign didn’t release any further details about the event. Trump’s 5 p.m. rally in southern Minnesota was originally set to be held at the Rochester International Airport, but then moved to a private company about a half-hour west in Dodge Center, Minn., McNeilus Steel, where several thousand people were expected to attend. But by late Thursday, the event had moved back to the Rochester airport; only the first 250 people will be admitted inside the venue.

Judge: Late Minnesota absentee ballots must be separated Republicans have tried to block voter expansion across the country, and the Minnesota decision comes as similar extensions have gone before the U.S. Supreme Court with mixed results. The nation’s high court recently left a three-day extension for counting absentee ballots in Pennsylvania in place, but refused to reinstate a six-day extension in Wisconsin.

As of last Friday, nearly 2 million Minnesota voters had requested absentee ballots, and more than 500,000 of those ballots remained outstanding.

If you have a mail-in ballot at your home you'd be wise to drop it off in person to ensure it gets counted.

In Trump Country, immigration takes back seat to abortion, taxes and spending in many voters’ minds Morrison County led the state in voter turnout for Trump, with 74 percent of voters backing him in 2016. This year, many supporters are sticking with him, despite his administration’s aggressive immigration policies that have rattled immigrant workers and their employers in this farming community.

Biden has the edge, but Trump retains narrow path The final NPR Electoral College map analysis shows Democrat Joe Biden going into Election Day with the clear edge, while President Donald Trump has a narrow but not impossible path through the states key to winning the presidency.

Among states leaning or likely to go in a particular candidate's direction, Biden leads by 279 electoral votes to Trump's 125. A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to win a majority of the votes available — and the presidency.

That means even if Trump were to win all of the toss-up states, he'd still come up 11 electoral votes short and would need to win over at least one state currently leaning in Biden's direction. The Trump campaign has its eyes on Pennsylvania.
