Biden: Here's what Louisiana would lose under GOP plan

By Jessica Williams | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Debt ceiling: Under a GOP plan to cut national spending, Louisiana's public schools would lose $86 million, the White House said this week. Rental aid and food stamps would also be at risk. But Republicans call those predictions political theater, Mark Ballard reports.

'Don't Say Gay': The state House passed two anti-LGBTQ+ bills this week, James Finn reports. One would ban talk of gender or sexuality in schools, while another would limit the use of certain pronouns in schools. The controversial measures now head to the state Senate.

Tax credits: A state House committee on Tuesday advanced a bill that would eliminate more than 100 tax credits in Louisiana in 2027, unless lawmakers vote to keep each one alive, Tyler Bridges reports. The bill's sponsor says Louisiana gives away far too much of its revenue.
