Ohio’s secretary of state is signaling that the Democratic National Convention may take place too late for President Joe Biden to appear on the general election ballot in the state, according to a letter obtained by NBC News.

Secretary of State Frank LaRose offered two remedies in a letter to Ohio Democratic Party Chairwoman Liz Walters — and warned that action will be needed soon if the president is to appear on Ohio ballots in the fall.
