Big $$ at the Final Four. And more trouble for Brad Pitt's Make It Right

By Bob Warren

Final Four, Big $$$: New Orleans will be the epicenter of college sports this weekend – the Final Four returns for a sixth time. But if you want a piece of the action, expect to dig deep into your wallet. Spurred in part by a stellar field boasting the bluest of college’s basketball’s blue bloods, the cost of hotel rooms, airfare and tickets are surging, Tony McAuley reports.

We’ve had some incredible Final Fours here. Michael Jordan. Keith Smart. Chris Webber. It’s been a Who’s Who of late-game drama.

And of course, we have a lot more Final Four coverage. You can find it all here.

Another Boost: The FDA has authorized second COVID booster shots. Our health care writer Emily Woodruff tells us today who should get it.

More Make It Right Troubles: More problems being reported at Brad Pitt's Make It Right development in the Lower 9th Ward. Here's the latest.

Building Bridges: The very first bridge to ever carry vehicles across Lake Pontchartrain is back in the business. The nearly-century-old U.S. 11 bridge linking New Orleans and Slidell had been closed more than three years for a $28 million rehab project.

Civil Rights Challenge: Louisiana’s Congressional redistricting saga is headed to the courts. Civil rights groups are challenging Louisiana’s new districts in federal court, saying that having just a single Black-majority district out of six is wrong. The suit was filed just minutes after the state Legislature slapped down Gov. John Bel Edwards’ veto of those new districts.

Don't Be Fooled: So it's April Fools' Day -- which means be verrry careful about what you find on social media. Features writer Judy Bergeron offers up some background on the day. Stay safe out there, friends.

Hope you enjoyed today’s Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us. And of course, be sure to check out NOLA.com for more news throughout the day.
