Some of those will be addressed at a press conference today by the St. George Transition District. The press conference is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. at the St. George Fire Department headquarters, Training Room B, at 14100 Airline Highway, Baton Rouge. Violence rocked East Baton Rouge this weekend: Three people died and four others were injured in a string of shootings. Staff writer Gabby Jimenez has the overview. Meanwhile in Kenner, three police officers were among the five people injured in a five-hour standoff Sunday that ended when a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's sniper shot and killed the suspect.
