State Supreme Court decision to alter East Baton Rouge Parish landscape

A ruling by Louisiana’s highest court on Friday will allow the City of St. George to move forward with plans to incorporate, creating a city with at least 86,000 residents in the southeast corner of East Baton Rouge Parish.

A new Workforce Innovation and Talent Center in Baton Rouge will offer residents job training as well as increased access to health care sources. Once workers complete the six-week program, they will be eligible to work as pharmacy technicians.

CVS plans to work with multiple partners to train workers.


Every part of the sago palm is poisonous, and the plant's large, orange, toxic seeds are especially attractive to dogs, as they are just the right size to grab and chew.
