G'day,

A Melbourne start-up has managed to pull in $10m from some heavy hitting funds as it looks to decarbonise critical industries.

KC8 has nabbed Woodside Energy and Mexican building materials giant Cemex as key investors as it ditched the typical venture capital path, seeking to avoid investors focused on the longer-term instead of a quick exit in a few years.

The raising aims to bring Australia close to achieving net-zero emissions via carbon capture and storage, making the technology more environmentally friendly and cheaper to deploy.

Meanwhile, tech experts have discovered that criminals are targeting Australian airports and planes, using a simple device they can buy on eBay for $20.

The device allows them to create fake Wi-Fi networks to steal data from unsuspecting users, creating a foothold to launch Medibank-style cyber attacks.

Lastly, The Australian’s technology editor Jared Lynch this week took a FaceTime meeting via the world’s first spatial computer, the $6000 Apple Vision Pro. Here’s what he thought of the new and much-hyped device.
