Dear Reader, ‘ASX Reverses, but Miners Soar…’ That was the headline last week. And to be honest, it’s been the same for much of the year. If you’ve watched my ‘Age of Scarcity Attack Plan’, you’ll know the underlying reasons. A massive gap in supply is looming in a subset of critical minerals. And there’s a well-known time lag of at least 5–6 years to make the initial discovery. The smart money is waking up to this. And ditching tech for real assets. You’ll also have learned about my primary play on this megatrend. A company we’ve ambitiously labelled the ‘Son of Fortescue’. But did you get to the end of the presentation? If so, you’ll have discovered another, stealth powerplay on the Age of Scarcity. In my opinion, there’s the potential, if certain scenarios play out…for this outfit to experience even BIGGER exponential growth. Remember, the overarching aim of my ‘Attack Plan’: Buy companies that already hold valuable resources before the impending supply crunch is fully comprehended. These guys are making serious moves here. Which is why I call them: ‘ONE OF THE BEST SCARCITY STORIES ON THE ASX’ In fact, it was a contender for the Son of Fortescue. I ruled it out in the end because it doesn’t share as many eerie similarities with what Twiggy’s outfit was up to in the 2000s. It’s slightly riskier as an investment. And the Son of Fortescue is risky. And its focus is singular, on one mineral only: cobalt. The commodity exists almost exclusively within the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Age of Scarcity problem for tech companies is that all kinds of horror stories come out of the Congo: corrupt government, child labour, guerrilla warfare. Cobalt is needed for iPhones, Macs, PCs, you name it. Apple and Google don’t really have any other option despite the public blasting they receive. Step in this intriguing Age of Scarcity pick... This Aussie company is the standalone cobalt solution for the tech giants. When it comes into production, it’s set to instantly make Australia the second-largest global supplier of cobalt, thanks to the DRC dominating the worlds reserves. Again, this isn’t just idle speculation using Google. James has worked in Zambia, just across the border from the DRC. His time in Central Africa means he’s seen firsthand why this ASX company could be such an important solution for the tech industry...an ethical Age of Scarcity option to lock in stable cobalt supply.
