Cassidy out: Sometimes it’s big political news when someone doesn’t run for an office. U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy, who had never formally gotten into the race for governor, said this morning he won’t be a candidate. Here’s how that announcement could shape next year's race.
Bridge relief? It's not the busiest bridge in Louisiana. But when I-10 at the Louisiana-Mississippi state line is shut down (and you may have sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic there a time or two) the drawbridge on U.S. 90 across the West Pearl River becomes a very important alternative route.
