The token’s website only describes the token's generation, not its purpose, leading some to speculate if it has any utility. Project tweets appear to express discontent with the block producers running the EOS blockchain today. Full story

OPTIONS COMING: Derivatives exchange CME Group said as long as it gets the green light from regulators, it will launch options on its bitcoin futures contracts on Jan. 13, 2020. “We believe bitcoin options will now offer our customers greater precision and flexibility to manage their risk,” said Tim McCourt, the exchange’s global head of equity index and alternative investment products. FIAT FUNDING: Binance will be the first crypto exchange to integrate a new Fiat Gateway service from regulated blockchain firm Paxos. Provided via an API, the facility allows exchange users to execute simple swaps between U.S. dollars and stablecoins, including the firm’s own Paxos Standard (PAX) and Binance USD. Full story

60 COINS: The crypto wallet and investment app Abra is adding support for 60 new cryptocurrencies. Announced Tuesday, U.S. customers are now able to deposit, withdraw or trade bitcoin SV, DAI, cosmos, and other crypto assets. Additionally, customer withdrawal and deposit amounts have doubled to $4,000 per day, $8,000 per week, and $16,000 per month. Full story

MOBILE DEX: HTC will provide support for Binance Chain with a new special edition of its blockchain cellphone. The EXODUS 1 Binance edition will integrate Binance Chain with the device’s native Zion Vault wallet app, allowing users to directly access Binance’s decentralized exchange using the phone. BEATING LIBRA: China will launch its digital yuan within two to three months, according to Jack Lee, managing partner of HCM Capital – an investment firm backed by Foxconn. The central bank plans to issue its digital currency to commercial banks and payment networks like Alipay and WeChat, he said in interview with CNBC. “So, they already have all the system and the network ready. I think you will see it very soon, in the next maybe two to three months,” Lee said.
