Bipartisan Deal Reached On Infrastructure Plan

Areas of the Corn Belt in need of moisture are finally seeing rain this week, but it came with severe crop damage to portions of Iowa after hail wiped out some farm fields this week.

While details weren't outlined, a group of five Democrat senators and five Republican senators have forged an infrastructure agreement. The pared down plan is worth $953 billion, with $579 billion in new investments for roads, broadband internet, electric utilities and more.

"Today, we had too many cattle and too little processing capacity," said Mark Gardiner, partner with Gardiner Angus Ranch in Ashland, Kan. "We have a volatile marketplace created by outside unavoidable factors, not any one market player."

The pork cutout value dropped almost $13 on Tuesday. The primal belly was down more than $59, and the primal rib dropped more than $16. Pork futures also dropped again on Wednesday. Experts say U.S. pork export sales have slowed recently, especially to China.
