Dearest Readers,
I was lucky to spend this past weekend in Asheville, NC, while the weather was unspeakably gorgeous. I also got to meet the famous Biscuits—The Cat in the New Merch Art (sung to the tune of "Skimbleshanks")—with his *poofy* widdle cheeks.
One of my favorite places in Asheville is Firestorm, a worker-owned bookstore. They have, in addition to distinct "Essay" and "Memoir" shelves, t-shirts that read, Fuck White Supremacy, and an entire rack of zines. I don't know much about the history of zine-making nor do I know the difference between a chapbook and a zine other than ~*vibes*~. Regardless, there is something about a tiny book that I adore. I found (and bought) three copies of Donna Haraway's "A Cyborg Manifesto." I also have no idea who made them, but I plan to hand them out to my students this week for fun.
