Dencun Impact on Ethereum Fees and Earnings

The recent Dencun upgrade to Ethereum focuses on reducing transaction costs on Layer 2 scaling solutions. While this might lead to a temporary decrease in fees collected on Ethereum, it has the potential to significantly increase overall network usage.

Lower fees on Layer 2s could attract more users and activity to the Ethereum ecosystem. This, combined with the continued growth of DeFi, could lead to a surge in Layer 2 transaction volume, potentially offsetting the initial decrease in Layer 1 fees and even boosting them in the long term.

However, ETH staking yields might see some fluctuation in the short term as the network adjusts to the new fee structure.
