Dad used to tell a story about training fleas. He would ask, “Do you know how to train fleas?”

But eventually, their jumps decrease until, even when the lid is removed, they don’t jump high enough to get out of the jar.
They condition themselves to quit pushing the limits, and then don’t go past that level, even when the limit is removed.
