Black Voices Boston

Join us at the showcase of Black Voices Boston, a short film with seven dance vignettes that shares the stories of seven Black Bostonians. Each participant's story will be reimagined into a dance choreographed by Rafael Palacios, founder of Colombian dance company Sankofa Danzafro.

The participants of Black Voices Boston are:

Cherié Butts PhD, medical director from Arlington, Mass.Marlon Forrester, a painter, and art educator from Mattapan, BostonNapoleon Jones-Henderson, renowned artist and educator from Roxbury, BostonShirley Jones-Luke, writer, poet, and public school educator from Dorchester, BostonNina La Negra, resident teaching artist and art educator from the South End, BostonJanaeya Moon, rising high school senior and rapper from DorchesterEllice Patterson, Executive Director of Abilities Dance Boston and Ballet Rox, from Brookline, Mass.
