Good evening,

Good evening,

There’s a bit of a spring in the step at Blackstone’s Australian office, post its real estate team’s acquisition of Crown Resorts and the PE team breaking a seven-year drought at Nucleus Network.

And from what we hear, it may not be too long before the PE unit has another transaction, with Blackstone closing in on Mexican restaurant chain Zambrero.

Blackstone, with KWM’s lawyers by its side, is understood to be close to gaining exclusive talks, which would open the door for its dealmakers to negotiate a transaction with Zambrero’s founder and owner.

Who knows if it comes off, but Blackstone seems to be doing all the right things to make it happen.

Elsewhere, with spring around the cornerwe check back in on Flower Power, and reveal more about Potentia Capital’s bid for Nitro Software.

Happy reading,
Anthony Macdonald, Sarah Thompson and Kanika Sood
