Blend of immigrants adds flavor to life in south Louisiana

Whether it is the culture, the friendliness of locals, the countryside or just the "cool stuff," people who traveled from all corners of the globe have their own reasons for creating a life for themselves in south Louisiana.

"I love that it's such a melting pot. You have people from all sorts of different countries and different cultures here," says Laura Siu, who originally came to the state from Honduras for academic reasons and ended up staying.

New Orleans Saints tight end Foster Moreau, who played at LSU, has announced he is in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma, just 3½ months after he was first diagnosed.

Saints’ team doctor John Amoss discovered the rare form of cancer when Foster, who was a free agent, visited the Saints in March. Despite the diagnosis, the Saints signed Moreau to a 3-year, $12 million deal in May.

“I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered,” Foster posted on Twitter.
