Today on the Solemnity of Pentecost, the Church commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, gathered around our Blessed Mother (Acts 2). The feast is always celebrated on the 50th and final day of the Easter season.

This is the oldest of all Novenas, since it was first made at the direction of our Lord Himself when He sent His apostles back to Jerusalem to await the coming of the Holy Spirit on the very first Pentecost. We hope this Novena inspires you and brings you closer to the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity.

Tomorrow the Church honors Mary, Mother of the Church. In 2018, Pope Francis added this feast day to the Church calendar, placing it the day after Pentecost.
