Blues Fest set to return in April

with Kelly P. Kissel | Metro editor

Heading into the last weekend of Carnival, here are our top stories.

Ascension schools worker accused

A school employee in Ascension Parish has been accused in connection with a sex-crimes investigation. The paraprofessional was named as an accessory after the fact in a case dating from last fall. David Mitchell tracked down the story.

Blues Fest returns in April

With Mardi Gras about to be a memory, it's time to turn attention to another big event making its return in 2022, the Baton Rouge Blues Festival. We have the lineup for the April 23-24 festival in downtown.

Skip work, get a suspension

A Baton Rouge police officer wanted a weekend off as Hurricane Ida approached the state last August. He got four days off, but not the way he wanted. Officer Stefan Jones was caught forging military paperwork and was suspended for four days, according to documents obtained by The Advocate's James Finn.

Enjoy your weekend and have a great Mardi Gras.
