Bob Dean pleads no contest in criminal charges related to Hurricane Ida evacuations

Notorious nursing home owner Bob Dean pleaded no contest Monday to 15 criminal charges in Tangipahoa Parish, including cruelty to the infirm, but he will not be required to serve time in prison for his decision to send 843 of his patients to an ill-equipped warehouse during Hurricane Ida in 2021.

After stalling out last week, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board has agreed to renew its search for a new superintendent, this time with an even tighter deadline. Read the full story. 


An outside firm will review the Louisiana Department of Transportation's practices, after Gov.
