The 16th rider from his country to raise his arms in the July race, he is the first Luxembourger to win a stage of the event since eleven years ago and Andy Schleck's success on the Galibier on stage 18 of the 2011 edition. Between 2011 and 2022, Bob Jungels was the only Luxembourger to come close to victory, scoring the only two top five finishes in the Grand Duchy during this period (4th in stage 18 and 5th in stage 16 in 2015). | | |
