The minimum wage for Bank of America employees will increase to $17 an hour May 1 and will be $20 an hour by mid-2021, says CEO Brian Moynihan, who notes employees have to be paid more to keep up with the strong economy. Health care cost increases for lower-paid staffers have been frozen, Moynihan says.

Bill aims for employer contribution to worker retirement savings
A bill introduced by Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Christopher Coons, D-Del., would require companies with at least 10 employees to contribute to workers' retirement savings. The minimum contribution would be 50 cents per hour, which would increase to 60 cents after two years, then climb as wages grow.
