The Boiler Room x CUPRA stage has become a perfectly familiar space within the musical ecosystem of Primavera Sound Barcelona in record time. It is as if it has always been there. It has only taken two years to make it hard to remember what life was like in the Parc del Fòrum before the arrival of the most iconic dancefloor in the world, a place of clubber pilgrimage to which you can return on the 30th and 31st of May and the 1st of June. Primavera Sound will once again have an ace up its sleeve on its three main days that will make the electronic side of the line-up even better: the Boiler Room x CUPRA stage will once again be a club within the festival, ready to expand its legend a little more.
Â
The three-way union between Boiler Room, CUPRA and Primavera Sound renews its commitment to the most avant-garde, bold and revealing proposals, represented this year by a transgressive DJ set by Arca, the viral phenomenon Bb trickz, who will make the leap from the Internet to real life in what will be his first show at Spanish festivals, the Boiler Room debut of Evian Christ, Erika de Casier and her signature R&B, the hilarious chaos of the duo Snow Strippers, the pioneering DJ Spanish Fly as the godfather of Memphis rap and the wonky guru Joker. They will all come together on a stage that is impossible to label because its sound will go from the mutant baile funk of Brazilian sensation DJ Ramon Sucesso and the Arab Latin fusion proposed by 3Phaz, to the supersonic hiphop of They Hate Change and the HD footwork of Heavee, to the dark b2b between Demdike Stare and Raime and to the perreo with denomination of origin of DJ Negro, founding father of reggaeton who has chosen Boiler Room x CUPRA for a rare appearance.
Â
And as a modern dancefloor is as much a place for fun as it is for visibility, the Boiler Room x CUPRA stage will host various dissident proposals that have made the club their own loudspeaker. From the Latineo collective, which will defend its migrant and queer identity with SoFTT, Safety Trance, Amantra and M8NSE, to the Egyptian El Kontessa and the Ethiopian Adrasha representing vibrant local scenes yet to be discovered by the general public, passing through the vindication of an alternative Latin culture proposed by the Spanish-Cuban Toccororo, who will present a sample of her CAOTICA party.
Â
In short, Boiler Room x CUPRA will be a stage as close to the future as it is to reality on its awaited return to Primavera Sound Barcelona.
