In the spirit of the old “worth a thousand words” adage, Colin Salter has compiled an impressive array of groundbreaking posters from around the world. Together, these images present a cross-section of works that mobilized, inspired, and otherwise “changed the world” during their time.
Also worth checking out is this excerpt on Black masculinity and performance from Blackspace: On the Poetics of an Afrofuture by poet Anaïs Duplan, as well as reviews of a pivotal text on craft, a recounting of the glories of watercolor, and a feminist take on Beowolf, and so much more.
Last but not least, this deep dive into the work of pioneering artist and educator Loïs Mailou Jones brought some light to my weekend.
