Books to Be Aware ofSix Titles Worth Reading
As you may know, most of what I do these days is run an agency where my team and I collaborate on books with authors. Our services include book proposal writing, editing, design, and ghostwriting. Most of what we do is help people plan great books and figure out the plan to execute that plan, filling in the gaps where needed. It’s a boutique agency and not something I really want to grow too much, as we enjoy working with a handful of clients on meaningful projects each year. For some of these projects, I serve as the primary writer; others, I oversee the creative execution of the author’s vision. All in all, we’ve worked on something like 20-30 books in the past year or two—all of which have been released or are in the process of being released. What’s interesting about this work is that although we spend 6-12 months typically working on a book, working on only a few at a time, the projects tend to all release around the same time. This is the nature of publishing, as there seem to be certain seasons where a release is optimal—or at least, that’s been my experience. So it’s challenging to talk about these projects without throwing a lot at you all at once. Nonetheless, I want to share with you this work that we are proud of, and of course, it’s always nice to find a new book that you may not have heard about otherwise. So without further ado, here are some books our team has had the privilege of contributing to that I think would be worth your while. Let Love In: The Pain Stops When the Truth Starts. In this blend of self-help and memoir, the author shares his story of abuse as well as his journey to seek and find healing. Jake Kauffman is a business coach who helps clients go deep in the core issues holding them back from their most abundant life and work, and his book shares the story behind this work and how all healing starts once you begin to share the truth. Jake is offering a deep discount of the book through the end of next week (including a 99-cent eBook exclusive price) for anyone who orders it—along with some special bonuses. You can learn more here. The Family First Entrepreneur: How to Achieve Financial Freedom without Sacrificing What Matters Most. E-commerce expert and founder of the My Wife Quit Her Job podcast, Steve Chou shares his unique approach to business and the story behind his family’s success. I learned a lot about how to integrate entrepreneurship with a balanced personal and family life. Think of it as The 4-Hour Workweek for people with kids. This is available for preorder now and will be out next month. Don’t miss the bonuses Steve is offering here. Read This or Die!: Persuading Yourself to a Better Life. Expert copy writer and marketer Ray Edwards shares how what he’s been teaching people about persuasion for years just might be able to save his own life. The book details his diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease, how the experience transformed his outlook on life, and how the process of writing yourself a sales letter can help you achieve almost any change you want. This is a heartfelt story with some surprisingly practical takeaways. Available for preorder now with a free video mini-course available as a bonus. The Wealthy Way: Don’t Go Broke Trying to Get Rich. Serial entrepreneur (and former professional baseball player) Ryan Pineda shares his approach to business, wealth building, and life. Pulling no punches on what he believes about money, faith, and what ultimately matters, this is a compelling story with a simple but effective approach to building true wealth. This book came out back in December but is worth mentioning as it now has over 700 reviews and continues to sell. Be sure to check out the free quiz and course that goes along with the book. The Warrior Poet Way: A Guide to Living Free and Dying Well. Former Army Ranger John Lovell shares his approach to masculinity in the modern world and why men must be both gentle and dangerous. This title doesn’t release until this summer but is already making waves. John’s huge following on YouTube, no doubt, contributes to this, and I imagine you’ll be hearing about this book soon enough. A blend of politics, philosophy, and religious faith, this book is not for everyone, but it just might be for you. Playing with Fire: The Spiritual Path of Intimate Relationship. Coauthored by two experts on the art of sexual yoga, this tome of a book (nearly five hundred pages!) shares stories, techniques, and wisdom on how to create an unrelentingly exciting relationship with any intimate partner. This book may make you blush in places, but you won’t be able to forget what you read—and what just might be possible for you. If I could recommend one resource for improving a romantic relationship, it would be this. My wife and I have both benefitted tremendously from the work illustrated in this book and the practices Justin Patrick Pierce and Londin Angel Winters teach. There you go! I hope you enjoy that smattering of books to come and those that have already been published. If you want more recommendations on good books, or just in need of some interesting reading (about reading), check out Miller’s Book Review. It’s run by my friend Joel Miller, who was one of a handful of significant influences who helped me convert to Substack. His publication is one of my favorites to read on a consistent basis. You won’t be disappointed. And if you’re looking for help with your next book, you can check out what we do here. You're currently a free subscriber to The Ghost.
