~ 1 MONTH TO GO ~

Get ready to join us in June for our
signature awareness and fundraising month!

Bowel cancer is Australia's second deadliest cancer, claiming 103 lives every week.

Over 15,500 Australians are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year (299 a week), including 1,716 people under the age of 50.

Almost 99% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated when detected early.

There are lots of ways you can get involved this June to raise awareness and help support the leading community-funded charity dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, research, quality treatment and care, so everyone affected by bowel cancer can live their best life.

Why not take your fundraising online? Create a page, invite friends and family to support you, and share your progress. Raise over $250 and we’ll send a FREE pair of bum shorts

Last year, Bowel Cancer Australia's dynamic June campaign was mentioned in over 670 news stories and reached more than 25.4 million people.

Funds raised through our Annual Giving Day help fund our three-year $600,000 early-onset bowel cancer research project commitment.

Authentic voices are important in helping to raise bowel cancer awareness.

Help spread the word by sharing our free awareness resources with your friends, family and colleagues.

We’ve created a range of social tiles to help raise awareness of symptoms, risk factors, and facts.

Share your lived-experience to find strength in connections, help build communities and create a powerful voice for change.

Stay connected via our social channels to share, regram and retweetour posts to help challenge perceptions and motivate action.
A simple way to help show your support this June is to wear a Bowel Cancer Awareness Ribbon or even better, grab a display box of 30 to sell to friends and colleagues.

Purchase merchandise such as bum shorts, wristbands or t-shirts to stand out from the crowd or buy, send or dedicate a ribbon to display on our virtual apple tree.

Help create a powerful voice for change during Call on Canberra 2024 as we promote our Never2Young Advocacy Agenda:

  • Greater awareness among the community and health care professionals.
  • Lower screening age in response to increasing rates of bowel cancer in younger people.
  • Prompt GP referral to colonoscopy for all younger people who present with symptoms that may be consistent with bowel cancer.
  • Improved pathways that ensure timely triage, diagnosis, and treatment for young people.
  • Better understanding of the challenges of early-onset bowel cancer to improve and tailor treatment, support and care for younger patients.
  • Further research into the causes of early-onset bowel cancer that has the potential to improve survival and/or help build a path toward a cure.
