~ 4 WEEKS TO GO ~

Get ready to join us in June for our
signature awareness and fundraising event!

Bowel cancer is Australia's second deadliest cancer, claiming 103 lives every week.

Over 15,500 Australians are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year (300 a week), including 1,680 people under the age of 50.

Almost 99% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated when detected early.

There are lots of ways you can get involved this June to raise awareness and help support the leading community-funded charity dedicated to prevention, early diagnosis, research, quality treatment and care, so everyone affected by bowel cancer can live their best life.

Acclaimed actress Miriam Margolyes OBE continues as the voice of Bowel Cancer Australia’s award winning 'Give a $#*! About Your Bowel' advertising campaign.

The third instalment of this high impact series focuses on 'cancer' with a clear message that when caught early almost 99% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated.

“I’m thrilled to continue being the voice Bowel Cancer Australia’s talking bowel again this year. I’m not one to shy away from perceived 'taboo' topics and quite frankly, we need people to give a shit about bowel cancer,” said Miriam Margolyes.

The 2023 campaign completes the series featuring a computer-generated model with a 'talking bowel' and follows on from the previous 'bowel' and 'polyp' focuses.

A simple way to help show your support this June is to wear a Bowel Cancer Awareness Ribbon or even better, grab a display box of 30 to sell to friends and colleagues.

Purchase merchandise such as bum shorts, caps, wristbands or t-shirts to make sure you stand out from the crowd.
Alternatively, buy, send or dedicate a virtual ribbon which will be displayed on our virtual apple tree.

If you want to create even more noise, gather a crowd in-person or via Zoom and arrange a Rear in Gear workplace or community presentation.

Last year, Bowel Cancer Australia's dynamic campaigns were mentioned in over 486 news stories and reached more than 18.1 million people.

Funds raised through our Annual Giving Day help fund our three-year $600,000 early-onset bowel cancer research project commitment.
