Dry July Starts Today - Sign Up Now!

Bowel Cancer Australia is excited to be an official charity beneficiary for the 2021 Dry July campaign!

Commit to making the small sacrifice of going booze-free for the month of July and sign up to raise funds for people affected by bowel cancer.

With a mission to provide practical cancer-focused support to the growing number of Australians affected by bowel cancer, Bowel Cancer Australia’s 2021 Dry July team will be raising funds to employ Australia's first dedicated Bowel Cancer Care Oncology Social Worker.

Helping to reduce anxiety and distress, and increase feelings of hope and empowerment, by assisting patients in learning new ways of coping, providing practical information about available resources in their community, and improving communication with their medical team and loved ones.

That’s something no to drink to!

Thanks to the support of 745 fundraisers (and counting), Dry July 2021 has already raised more than $160,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia. What an amazing effort - thank you all!

Never2Young Advocacy Agenda

Did you know, 1 in 10 Australians diagnosed with bowel cancer are under the age of 50?

Since the mid-1990s, the number of new young-onset bowel cancer cases has been increasing.

Young patients are more likely to be diagnosed with bowel cancer in Stage III or IV and face unique challenges.

Never2Young is an initiative of Bowel Cancer Australia, helping to raise awareness of young-onset bowel cancer and providing resources uniquely designed for younger people.

Help us to challenge perceptions and create a powerful voice for change by sharing our Never2Young Advocacy Agenda with your family, friends, colleagues and networks.

Please join us in calling for:

Greater awareness: among the community and health professionals of young-onset bowel cancer.

Lower screening age: below 50, in response to the increasing rates of bowel cancer in younger people.

Prompt GP referral: to a colonoscopy for all younger people who present with symptoms that may be consistent with bowel cancer.

Better understanding: the challenges of young-onset bowel cancer to improve and tailor treatment, support and care for younger patients.

Further research: into the causes of young-onset bowel cancer, helping build a path toward a cure.
