A legacy conversation is a wonderful thing

Include a Charity Week (2-8 September 2024) is an annual social change campaign aimed at getting us thinking and talking about a somewhat sensitive (but very important) topic - how we can all make a positive difference to our community after we're gone.

Making a charitable bequest is one of the most profound decisions a person can make. There are many ways to leave a gift in your Will and by doing so, you are helping to create a better world for future generations.

If you’d like to know more about Bowel Cancer Australia and how leaving a gift in your Will can make a difference to people affected by bowel cancer, you can visit our website, contact us on 1800 727 336 or start writing your free Will using one of the online Will providers listed here.

Bowel Cancer Australia is dedicated to championing what matters most to people impacted by bowel cancer and empowering everyone affected to live their best life. Our Mission is to challenge perceptions, overcome barriers, and create meaningful change across the care continuum through awareness, advocacy, and integrated research to improve access to personalised treatments and patient-centred care.

"I am very excited about the trek. After learning more about bowel cancer [in the last year], building awareness is key. I have always wanted to do base camp...this will be a true test." - Willis

Meet Willis, Dennis, and Willis' wife Natalie. Last year, Natalie was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer at age 39. In an effort to raise awareness and much-needed funds, and to tick off their bucket list, Willis and Dennis are trekking Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal as part of the Hike For Health in support of Bowel Cancer Australia.

Following a highly successful Morning Tea event at their workplace, and support from family and friends, the brothers have so far raised an astounding $30,000 (and counting!) for Bowel Cancer Australia.

Big thanks to Willis, Dennis and Natalie. We're loving following along with your trip preparations, and are so excited to see you head off on this adventure of a lifetime.

Like to join Willis and Dennis? We have two places left for the Hike For Health this October. Click here for further details.

A very warm thank you and congratulations to everyone who has been taking part in Dry July in support of Bowel Cancer Australia. Your amazing fundraising efforts and generous donations will have a direct impact and are so greatly appreciated.

Thanks to the support of more than 800 fundraisers, Dry July 2024 raised over $380,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia, helping to create a better life for people affected by bowel cancer, by funding invaluable services like Bowel Cancer Australia’s specialist Bowel Care Nurse program.

Earlier this year, thanks to donations received through the Dry July Foundation, Bowel Cancer Australia was excited to fund five new specialist Bowel Care Nurses across Australia.

Helping to provide more bowel cancer patients with the care they deserve, as close to home as possible, so they can live their best lives.

Thank you again, from all the team at Bowel Cancer Australia.

Palliative Care Doctor and author of 'With the End in Mind', Kathryn Mannix demystifies the often uncomfortable topic of death and dying on the latest episode of The Bottom Line Podcast.

Chatting with Stephanie, Kathryn reminds us that we often fear death because of the unknown ... that death is not what is portrayed in Hollywood movies and that we have forgotten about the process of 'ordinary dying'.

Drawing on her decades of experience, Kathryn provides practical tips as well as some tools to be able to navigate the process of death and dying.

Kathyrn’s calm and warm approach makes this podcast a must listen.
