We’re determined to have an everlasting impact where no Australian dies from bowel cancer and all those diagnosed receive the support they need.

For over 20 years, Bowel Cancer Australia has been creating positive change across the continuum of care and our impact continues to be felt nationwide, thanks to the generosity of our dedicated fundraisers and supporters, sponsors, patrons and ambassadors.

The last few years have been challenging, however it has only renewed our commitment to the 15,610 newly diagnosed patients, their families and loved ones; and to the over 146,000 Australians currently living with or beyond bowel cancer; as well as to our loyal supporters, remains steadfast.

Proudly 100% community funded, together, we are making real change happen – helping thousands of Australians affected by bowel cancer to live their best lives with high quality treatment and vital support services.

Thank you for your continued support.

Are you a kick ass woman living with or beyond bowel cancer, or do you have a female family member or friend who is?

In celebration of International Women’s Day (8 March), Bowel Cancer Australia raises awareness of bowel cancer in women and shares empowering stories from Aussie women who are kicking bowel cancer’s ass.

It is a common misconception that bowel cancer is an old man’s disease. Yet the reality is, bowel cancer affects women of all ages, and almost half of all people diagnosed with bowel cancer in Australia each year are women.

Find out how you can share your story, join our campaign to increase awareness of bowel cancer in women, show your support for the growing number of people living with or beyond bowel cancer - and help us kick bowel cancer’s butt!

Read more about the campaign here and share your story here.

Despite being the third most diagnosed cancer, bowel cancer patients don’t receive the same level of support as other common cancers.

Described as a 'lifeline' by patients and their loved ones, Bowel Cancer Australia is helping to address this gap through our Bowel Care Nurse program.

Funding Bowel Care Nurses in regional communities, enabling equity of access to personalised care and tailored support.

Nominations are now open for 2023/24 Bowel Care Nurse funding.

These dedicated nurses act as a point of contact for bowel cancer patients and their families as they navigate the health system – providing advice, education, support and direct patient care.

Nominations must include a key contact at the relevant hospital or health service.

Every single one of us has the ability to make a difference and play our part in creating a (bowel) cancer-free world. Our 2023 World Cancer Day campaign raised awareness of the inequities in cancer care. Including inequities in the level of support bowel cancer patients receive, care experiences and health outcomes for patients with early-onset bowel cancer, access to screening and new treatments. As the proverb goes: "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." A very big thank you to all our supporters who participated in the World Cancer Day 5K Challenge and raised funds for Bowel Cancer Australia. Completing a loop of 5 kilometres by running, cycling, swimming, walking, hiking or any other activity, symbolically closing the care gap, and nominating family, friends and their local community to do that same.
