Happy holidays, everyone. And what would the holidays be without bowl season. The slate of 43 bowls begins Friday morning (yes, morning) with the Bahamas Bowl between Miami (Ohio) and UAB. Yes, the same UAB that LSU rolled up 41-10 last month in Tiger Stadium. From a start way out off the east coast, bowl season wraps up on the west coast Jan. 9 with the CFP National Championship Game in suburban Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. There's a lot in between, including LSU's trip to the Jan. 2 Citrus Bowl to face Purdue, Tulane's trip to the Cotton Bowl to take on Southern California (the games kick off at the exact same time) and UL's trip to the Independence Bowl on Dec. 23 to face Houston. We've got you covered with lots of little bowl fun facts and a handy schedule you can refer to again and again. If you want, give us a call and we'll get you a version suitable for framing. The transfer portal season also continues to hum along. Another day finds another player in the portal from LSU, this time backup offensive lineman Xavier Hill. Of course, the transfer portal is definitely a two-way street. It can bring LSU players like former Maryland forward Angel Reese in women's basketball. Reese has started her LSU career playing at an All-American level, with a double-double in each of the Tigers' first 10 games. Wednesday she had one of her best efforts, pouring in a career-high 32 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in the No. 11 Tigers' 88-42 romp over Lamar. LSU is now 10-0 heading to Maui for a pair of games before opening SEC play Dec. 29 at Arkansas. Just a smattering of stories for you today, folks, but that bowl story has really got a lot of details to it. So dive in and be prepared for the bowl onslaught to come.
