By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor Police are trying to figure out why a man and his 4-year-old son were hiking in freezing weather. Saturday's outing ended with the child dying after being retrieved from a chilly Amite River. According to police, there were no immediate signs of foul play, but investigators question whether it was logical to hike along the river in such horrible conditions.
