By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor Here's hoping you find joy in the holiday season, and some cool stuff in your stocking. The worst of the cold weather is behind us, for now, and pretty much all of southern Louisiana could see temperatures in the 40s today. Some chilly nights are ahead, but by the middle of the week don't be surprised to see temperatures in the 70s during the day. A 4-year-old wandered away from his father yesterday in Central and fell into icy water. The pair were hiking along the Amite River. Until Saturday, the New Orleans Saints had never played in conditions where the temperature was below 24 degrees at game time. Their game Saturday in Cleveland broke that mark by a mile, and then some. It was a pretty cold day for the Browns' too — the game was the third-coldest on record for Cleveland. For their part, the Saints weren't red-hot, but they were warm enough. |
