Bradt Travel Guides 'New Travel Writer of the Year' competition Part of the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards
Bradt Travel Guides has teamed up with the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards for a second year to run what we believe is the world's best competition for unpublished travel writers. Not only are the prizes fabulous, but the competition offers a unique opportunity for unpublished writers to showcase their talents to the professional travel-writing community. Whether you're an aspiring travel writer or simply enjoy writing about your travels, this is the competition for you!
The prizes
First prize is a four-night summer break for two in Swedish Lapland, courtesy of Nordic travel specialists Discover the World, a commission to write an article about the prize trip for publication in Timeless Travels magazine, an Edward Stanford Awards antique globe trophy, and a place on the annual Bradt Travel-Writing Seminar (run in conjunction with Travellers’ Tales, the UK’s leading training agency for aspiring travel writers).
Two runners-up will also receive free places on the Bradt Travel Writing Seminar.
Furthermore, all three finalists will be invited to join the judges at the glittering Edward Stanford Travel-Writing Awards dinner in London in early spring, where the winner will be announced.
The subject for this year's competition is 'Lost in translation'. So sharpen your pencils, check your passport and get writing!
