Bradt Travel Guides New Travel Writer of the Year 2020 Part of the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards
Bradt Travel Guides has once again teamed up with the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards to run what we believe is the world's best competition for unpublished travel writers. Together with unbeatable prizes, this competition offers a fantastic opportunity for unpublished writers to showcase their talents to the professional travel-writing community. Whether you're an aspiring travel writer or simply enjoy sharing tales of your travels, this is the competition for you!
The Prizes
First prize is a two-night break in Portugal, courtesy of Wexas, a commission to write an article about the prize trip for publication in Traveller magazine, and a place on the annual Bradt Travel-Writing Seminar (run in conjunction with Travellers’ Tales, the UK’s leading training agency for aspiring travel writers).
Two runners-up will also receive free places on the Bradt Travel Writing Seminar.
Furthermore, all three finalists will be invited to join the judges at the Edward Stanford Travel-Writing Awards ceremony in London in early 2020, where the winner will be announced.
The subject for this year's competition is 'And then it happened'. So sharpen your pencils, check your passport and get writing!

OUR CORNWALL ‘A-BOOK’ NEEDS YOU! Earlier this year we published our latest Slow Travel Guide to Cornwall, enhanced with a host of additional content, which can be accessed on an app for Android devices. We believe this 'a-book' is a world-first for a travel-guide publisher. The book is a result of a project led by academics at the University of Surrey. The university team would now like to test the book in the field. Can you help? Each group will receive a £50 Amazon voucher for its participation in the study. Click here for the full details.
