Entries now open!
Bradt Travel Guides has teamed up with the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards to put together what we believe is the world's best competition for unpublished travel writers. Not only are the prizes fabulous, but the competition offers a unique opportunity for unpublished writers to showcase their talents to the professional travel-writing community. Whether you're an aspiring travel writer or simply enjoy writing about your travels, this is the competition for you!
First prize:
An incredible 7-day 'Gorillas and Lions Safari' holiday for two in Uganda, provided by TravelLocal and worth over £6,000
A paid commission to write an article about the trip for publication on the Bradt website
A unique antique globe trophy, presented in front of leading professional travel writers, publishers and editors at a glamorous dinner
A place on the Bradt Travel Writing Seminar
Two runners-up will also receive free places on the Bradt Travel Writing Seminar.
Furthermore, all three finalists will be invited to join the judges at the glittering Edward Stanford Travel-Writing Awards dinner in London in February, during which the winner will be announced.
The subject for this year's competition is A Brief Encounter. So sharpen your pencils, check your passport and get writing!
