Sen. Ipson sponsors legislation to harshen penalties for child torture
In an effort to enhance protection for Utahâs children and address an alarming national trend, Sen. Don L. Ipson is sponsoring a bill during the 2025 General Session to strengthen penalties for child torture. This proposed legislation would make child torture a standalone crime, escalating it from a second-degree felony to a first-degree felony and imposing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years. UVU chosen to host two days of 2025 Silicon Slopes Summit
Utah Valley University (UVU) and Utah-based nonprofit organization Silicon Slopes announced today that UVU will host the 2025 Silicon Slopes Summit on its Orem Campus on January 14 and 15. The event will continue in Salt Lake City for the following two days, January 16 and 17.
The Summit will feature keynote speeches from renowned industry experts and thought leaders, along with panel discussions, workshops, and ample networking opportunities.
