Tracking brain health in soldiers The US Army has announced that it will begin administering a cognitive assessment for all new soldiers. That will help them track changes in cognitive health if a soldier is exposed to a blast or experiences another head trauma. This initiative was partly driven by the tragic mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine last year, which was committed by an Army reservist with severe brain damage due to repeated blast exposure.
