The forum is scheduled to take place in Ottawa in November, 2016 and will provide an opportunity for youth with disabilities, and those with considerable work or academic experience in the field, to engage in a policy discussion around proposed accessibility legislation, to connect with peers, and to celebrate youth leadership in building a more accessible Canada. We encourage you to promote this forum through your networks to all other eligible youth who may be interested in attending. The partnership provides Toronto FC the opportunity to learn more about concussions and to ensure its youngsters have access to some of the best minds on the subject. The concussion centre gets a window into a specific group of young athletes. READ MORE CBC News Brain injury patients in Manitoba need more support when they're discharged from hospital, say members of the rehabilitation team working with a survivor of a fatal crash. Megan Prince, 19, has spent the past month at the brain injury unit of the Riverview Health Centre. Prince was seriously injured in a fiery car crash on Opaskwayak Cree Nation in April, leaving her with brain hemorrhages, a spinal injury and multiple fractures throughout her body. Tara Watts, a musician and songwriter with roots in folk, gospel and rock, went out for a bike ride without a helmet and that's the last thing she remembers about her trip. That's the message Julie Wilson, who sits on the board of directors for the Brain Injury Association, Sudbury District, delivered on the final day of school in Sudbury, as well as the end of Brain Injury Awareness Month. It's an important message, given the fact only 31 per cent of people over the age of 12 wear their helmets while cycling, according to Statistics Canada.
