This is a breaking news alert from The Scotsman.

The coronavirus situation in Scotland is getting very concerning. Nicola Sturgeon has just announced:

- Wednesday saw 1,429 positive Covid cases reported, the highest daily total ever.

- 15 people have died in the past 24 hours after testing positive with the virus.

- Trips to Blackpool specifically responsible for high number of positive cases.
