Oxford Covid-19 vaccine approved for use in UK A Covid-19 vaccine from Oxford University and AstraZeneca has been approved for use in the UK, paving the way for a mass roll-out. The UK has now ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine - enough to vaccinate 50 million people, with the new jab described as a 'game changer'. Brexit: Scottish minister pledges to fight for seed potato exporters 'I will do everything possible' said Scotland's rural economy minister, as he called for a reverse on the 'damaging impact' of the UK's EU trade deal with seed potato farmers. Cabinet Secretary Fergus Ewing said he is already in talks with the UK government's Secretary of State for the Environment and Rural Affairs, George Eustice, to find a solution. Police Scotland receive calls to increase diversity at top of ranks New research from the Scottish Liberal Democrats has shown only 1 per cent of top officers in Police Scotland are black, Asian or from an ethnic minority (BAME). The Scottish Liberal Democrats have called on the force to increase its diversity in light of the research, saying it needs to 'look closely' at the figures and consider why the top tiers of the policing 'aren't nearly as diverse as the public it serves'.
