President Joe Biden issued a series of warnings for the future of the country in his farewell speech, saying an "oligarchy is taking shape" that he sees as a threat to democracy in America.

Biden's comments in a White House address less than a week before he leaves office seemed clearly aimed at billionaire Elon Musk, who has been at the side of President-elect Donald Trump since his election win, and Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg.
