Cases rise again after days of dropping numbers

Coronavirus cases have risen in Scotland after a prolonged dip in numbers, the latest figures show. 

In the last 24 hours, 798 new cases were reported - compared with 655 the day before.

'I want the country to be back to normal'

That's what the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said, following yesterday's announcement of Scotland's route out of lockdown. 

"There is not a fibre of my being that wants one single restriction to be enforced for longer than necessary," she said.
