BREAKING: Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz will put a hold on Trump's State Department nominees

Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, said he would place a "blanket hold" on President Donald Trump's State Department nominees after Elon Musk said that the U.S. Agency for International Development would be shut down.

The move would prevent Trump from quickly installing personnel in key positions that must be confirmed by the Republican-led Senate. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he has been named acting administrator of USAID amid uncertainty over the humanitarian agency's future.
