BREAKING: Former Kentucky officer violated Breonna Taylor's civil rights in deadly raid, jury in retrial finds

A former Kentucky police officer was convicted of violating Breonna Taylor’s civil rights in a deadly 2020 raid at her apartment, nearly a year after a jury deadlocked in his first federal trial.

Brett Hankison, 48, was found guilty of violating Taylor’s civil rights when he fired 10 shots into her apartment, but acquitted of violating a neighbor’s civil rights. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
