Scotland has recorded its highest ever overnight increase of new cases of coronavirus cases, just weeks after lockdown rules were eased.

The First Minister revealed the news at a Covid update this afternoon, and said further restrictions could not be ruled out

Nicola Sturgeon said: "New cases in Scotland have more than doubled over the past week. That is one of the sharpest rises we have experienced at any point during the pandemic."
